Description
Edited by Keith Chapman
The first full-length study of the life and work of a greatly underrated sculptor, despite his being represented in Tate London, the V&A and the Arts Council of Great Britain and other public collections. His public commissions include Bullsfor the GLC and Horseman and Eagle situated at Charing Cross Hospital, London. From an early age, he exhibited alongside Francis Bacon, Picasso, Germaine Richier and Giacometti.
Clatworthy is an outstanding sculptor of animals and of heads and figures, taking them very close to abstraction.
